The Gambia's first National Data Centre has been officially launched by QCell, marking a significant milestone in the country's digital transformation journey.
The facility is designed to improve technological capacity, enhance data security, and reduce dependence on external systems. It will serve as the backbone for government services, financial institutions, and businesses across the nation.
Speaking at the launch, Muhammed Jah described the data centre as a 'game-changer' for The Gambia's digital economy. 'This is not just about technology; it's about sovereignty, security, and self-reliance,' he said.
The data centre is equipped with state-of-the-art security systems, redundant power supply, and advanced cooling technology to ensure 99.9% uptime.
